NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TANK Vers 2.2
This software is used to design oil storage tanks to API
650/653 codes. This latest release contains Addendum 1 to
API650, 10th Edition (corrosion section E.4.6, Materials
Table 3-2, Uplift due to pressure E.6.1). Curves E.2 and
E.3 redigitized, and amended roof plate thickness
calculations have been added. New CD's have been sent to
all users with current MUS.
COMPRESS Vers 6.40
Codeware has released Version 6.4 of Compress for Windows
and a new CD has been sent to all Compress users having
current Maintenance agreements. Major changes to Compress
include a completely new flange design section, improved
printing, and initial release of the Division 2 module.
This module is an optional add-on to Compress, and costs
$1650 + S&H. It does not include fatigue calculations.
VESSEL COSTER 4.62
This software automatically estimates pressure vessel cost
using data from the COMPRESS software program. The
program now includes an expanded report, consideration of
studs and gaskets, tangential nozzle estimating, multiple
database management, and a database security feature.
VESSEL DRAFTER 5.52
This software automatically produces pressure vessel
manufacturing drawings using vessel data from the COMPRESS
software program. Vessel Drafting Program now has improved
nozzle elevation notation.

Our FTP download page has been revamped to permit selection
of required downloads using radio-style buttons. This is
much simpler to use than previously. See

We have also added search buttons on all our web pages to
permit the user to DIRECTLY search for book, software or
other titles (e.g. music CD's) from Barnes&Noble or
Amazon. This is a great way to compare book prices from
these two resellers with a single "click". Books can also
be ordered directly on-line from these suppliers.
In addition, we have provided some useful DIRECT links to

ICARUS / ASPENTECH MERGER
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was announced earlier this month that ASPENTECH has
bought out ICARUS. This merger will bring benefits to
both software companies by way of pooled resources and
technical expertise. Closer links between Icarus software
and Aspen software are likely in the future. This merger
will not affect Icarus support or services, which will
continue to be supplied by Chempute Software as before.

Here is a free economic calculator which can be used
for financial analysis of a process plant. Input
capital equipment costs, labour costs and
requirements, utility costs, raw material costs and
final product costs. Output includes depreciation,
discounted cash flow, NPV, and profitability.
