NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES FOUNDATION 3D Foundation Design Software Chempute Software has recently signed a dealership agreement with Dimensional Solutions Inc (Houston), to sell their range of Foundation Design software. In particular,their product FOUNDATION 3D is interfaced with Coade's PVELITE software to automate the design of foundations for heat exchangers, horizontal pressure vessels, and vertical towers. Vessel geometry, load data and anchor bolt information is taken from the PVELITE design via an xmlfile interface. FOUNDATION 3D designs spread and combined foundations according to ACI 318 or BS 8110 codes, and produces dimensioned foundation plans and elevation sketches, bill of materials, and final construction drawings in either Autocad, Microstation or Smartsketch format. It includes over 105,000 alloy designations and trade names, along with composition, producer or name of standards organization, representative tensile properties, product forms and applications. It contains the full alloy records from Woldman's Engineering Alloys (9th Ed), Worldwide Guide to Equivalent Irons and Steels (4th Ed), and Worldwide Guide to Nonferrous Metals and Alloys (4th Ed). The alloy database can be searched by material type, alloy name, key words, properties, or composition. Price is US$844. PVELITE 4.2 - Pressure Vessel Design The latest version has many new features and enhancements. These includes interactive on-screen display of vessel allowables, nozzle cut-and-paste between heads, display ofvessel dimensions on the sketch, colour printout of sketch, material database search facility, 3D graphics improvements. The component analysis section has added trunnion and WRC analysis, baseplate design for legs, interactive on-screen display of shell/flange/nozzle results, and material database search. NozzlePro 4 is now in beta release and has further graphics enhancements. It also includes the axisymmetric analysis of nozzles in heads, with or without integral or non-integral repads, skirts and cutback hemi-heads. It also now includes steady state or transient heat transfer analysis. NozzlePro has an interface with PVELITE, to provide automated nozzle analysis , or may be run as a standalone application.
