CHEMPUTE SOFTWARE - APRIL 2001 NEWSLETTER
NEW SOFTWARE RELEASES
NOZZLE PRO 2.0 - Finite Element Analysis of Nozzles
FE/PIPE 4.1 - Finite Element Analysis of Piping/Vessels
These programs have been updated to provide support for
Microsoft DirectX 3D graphics. This allows stress states
and stress magnitudes to be easily viewed, together with
zoom, clip, thermal gradients, translucent views, scaling
tools. It provides great viewing of item geometry, meshed
models, stresses and item distortion.

Nozzle Pro can be run as a standalone module for analyzing
nozzles attached to vessels using FE, and for comparison
with calculations using WRC107 and WRC297 methods. Nozzle
Pro also has an interface to PVELITE (Pressure Vessel
Component Analysis software).

If you are using the COMPRESS Vessel Design software, then
a similar module called FEA NOZZLES is available which
interfaces directly with Compress. Contact Chempute
Software for more details.
COMPRESS (BUILD 6145) - PRESSURE VESSEL DESIGN
This new build corrects several small errors in previous
builds. Users with current maintenance agreements may
download the latest build file (28Mb) from:

CHEMOFFICE 2001
This market leading software suite which covers chemistry
drawing and publishing, 3D modeling, chemistry databases,
and chemistry Internet web tools has been upgraded to the
2001 version. The software comprises three main modules:
ChemDraw; Chem3D and ChemFinder.
The software can also be purchased as a complete solution
called ChemOffice 2001, which includes the three modules
above plus ChemNMR, Gaussian 98W, MOPAC, E-Lab Notebook,
plus Chem-Draw and Chem3D Plugins for Internet browsing.

FREE SOFTWARE CORNER
The REACTOR LAB is an interactive simulation of a chemical
reactor laboratory, which is useful for teaching and
understanding the principles of reactor design. It covers
Isothermal Reactors (Nth Order Batch, CSTR, PFR), Catalytic
Reactors (First Order Batch, CSTR, PFR, Intrapellet
concentration profiles, Methanol synthesis, Glucose
oxidation), Thermal Effects, Flow Patterns (CSTR,PFR,
Packed Beds), and Multiple Reactions (Parallel and Series
reactions, selective oxidation, stoichiometry). Download
this free utility (written by Richard K.Herz - Univ.of
California, San Diego):
